As the title suggests, this is certainly a family affair with father & son duo Peter & Lukas Visti combining forces to create & collate an album attuned for both dance floors & sunset sessions oozing mediterranean vibes.
Exclusive new Music For Dreams album from Danish DJ, bar owner, producer and record collector extraordinaire Peter Visti alongside his son Lukas. A real family affair, the pair worked together after dark when the rest of the house was sleeping.
The opener ‘Madness’ a track concocted via email with label head Kenneth Bager A thumping ass shaking club tune with hints of Earons, this creeps up from behind, climbs in your ear and sticks in your head with its perfectly sampled dubby vocals and magical guitar from Lukas.
‘Oba Oba’, is a sublime afro journey with lots of Konk/Jan Schulte style percussion, weird synthy noises, a funky ass baseline, acoustic guitars and an french afro hook – sheer balearic brilliance.
‘Passion’ is blissed-out sunset material – soft percussion, spacey flutes, gentle pads and Lukas’ beautiful Santana style guitars sounding like a lost tape from the mountains of Peru.
‘Besezeppe’ has a dubby vibe, with a bluesy undertone which compliments the samples whilst maintaining the fashionable tribal rhythms & electro beats.
Next up, ‘Wanna Dance’ – Peter is pushing all the right buttons here – drumming balearic madness, funky keys and the relentless ‘Wanna Dance’ hook make it a peak time killer of a track.
‘Work’ – The bpm slows, the tribal percussion starts, lulling you in before the beat drops. A total head nodder of a track.
After the ‘work’ out – its time to relax and unwind with ‘Take Me To The Beach’ Seashore sounds, a catchy melody, uplifting chords which is very reminiscent of classic early nineties tracks played at Cafe Del Mar.
‘Don’t Go Away’ is Peter & Lukas’ modern take on Affinity’s Paradise Garage Classic from 1983. Whilst retaining the eighties disco vibe, the duo have layered it with deep & darker beats whilst Lukas ads some classic 80’s guitar riffery over the top – oh yes!
‘Cantamos de la guitarra’ closes the album perfectly with Lukas’ gentle guitar playing using effects & delays to create the ethereal sound reminiscent of the late 80’s Robin Guthrie style (Cocteau Twins).
