AyOwA is all about dusty modular synths and old reel-to-reel tape machines with vocals in Danish on top. It’s about the joy of dancing, longing and mystery at the same time.
AyOwA is a duo established in cooperation between two old friends: Nicolai Kornerup (also in the bands Shanghai and Ufornia) and Hannah Schneider (also in the band Sinusstøv and a solo artist under her own name).
With role models like Aphex Twin, Michael Simpson and Underworld, their sound is crisp and minimalistic. As Nicolai manages the electronics and Hannah the songwriting, they often end up with songs juxtaposing darker themes and emotions expressed in a lighter way.
So far they have released the two singles “Sommer” and “NewCross” on Music For Dreams.
