DJ Mam

Active since 2002, Rio de Janeiro’s DJ MAM is an acclaimed producer, composer and music entrepreneur with vast experience inside the modern Brazilian music scene. A long-time advocate of ‘global sounds’ in pop music, MAM’s work fuses traditional Brazilian music with the best streams of current international sounds, beats and production concepts. Through the years MAM has worked in projects with acclaimed artists such as: Elza Soares, Mangueira Samba School, BNegão and Danilo Caymmi.

MAM’s relationship with the city of Rio de Janeiro is one of profound love and musical interaction. Along with multi-instrumentalist Rodrigo Sha, he composed ‘Oba Rio’, a new anthem for the city, selected as the official soundtrack of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the statue of Christ The Redeemer at Corcovado mountain, Brazil’s most iconic landmark. DJ MAM was the residente of Parque da Bola Rio during the FIFA World Cup 2014 and was the main atraction of the celebration of the Rio’s 450th anniversary (Rio dos Meus Olhos) at Flamengo Beach.

To close his curriculum with a loud bang, DJ MAM was in charge of the decks at the main stage of Rio’s world famous New Year’s celebration (Reveillon), playing music for an audience of over 2.3 million people at Copacabana Beach – a record breaking attendance for the event.
