Ken Fan draws his chill-out into murkier waters with new track ‘Under The Moon’.
The collaboration with vocalist Vicky Kroon marks the first taste of the anticipated forthcoming album from the Chinese-British artist.
Normally known for trafficking in the blissful tones and sunny moods endemic to his Ibiza Cafe Del Mar residence, the producer and DJ takes a different path with ‘Under The Moon.’ A bass thrums deep under the beat, carving out a hollow, skeletal sound, populated only by a vagrant guitar and Kroon’s ghostly vocals.
A gorgeous nocturnal drifter that takes us halfway to Portishead’s early work, while remaining within the boundaries of the artist’s home turf. One that affirms our special expectations for the forthcoming album.
