nneth Bager & Findlay Brown present the album Silence Was Singing, a grand electronic mélange of disco, funk and soul
The collaboration between the Danish producer Kenneth Bager and the British singer-songwriter Findlay Brown began with the single track ‘Stones And Steel’ back in 2020. The partnership quickly escalated into a full-length project, bringing to fruition a shared penchant for lush, colorful sounds and big, memorable vocal hooks.
Now the duo is ready to present the album.
Comprising eight tracks, Silence Was Singing offers a lavish mix of retro and forward-looking sounds, merging soulful electropop with the grand, uplifting Balearic chuggers of Bager’s native genres. Bager’s wholesome melodic production style is dealt out in sparkling synth hooks and bubbly crescendos, mounting the uplifting vocal hooks delivered by Findlay Brown.
All tracks are produced by Kenneth Bager with some visits from young Copenhagen guns WALTHER, OliO and Anders Ponsaing (Subnesia). Brown provides vocals on all tracks and is accompanied by none other than cult 80’s singer Anna Domino on ‘Don’t Look Back (Eurydice)’.
The album will be released on Bager’s label Music For Dreams on January 31st 2025.

Kenneth Bager (DK) is a renowned DJ, producer and artist and a prominent figure in the Balearic music culture since the 90’s. Credited with spawning the house scene in Copenhagen in the late 80’s – as a DJ, club promoter and artist (Dr Baker) – Bager later set his focus on the Balearic music scene centered around Ibiza.
Gradually moving away from the boundaries of club music, Bager made his mark on Ibiza with a genre-less, lightheartedly rebellious DJ’ing style.
In 2001, Bager created the Copenhagen-based label Music For Dreams, which remains a stalwart champion of Balearic music of all shapes and colors, while also branching out into pop, experimental, ambient, dub and other electronic genres.
Meanwhile Bager has released several projects of his own. In 2006, came the spectral jazz-pop album Fragments From A Space Cadet under the moniker The Kenneth Bager Experience, which enjoyed public and critical acclaim. In 2014 he released Follow The Beat followed by Late Night Symphonies in 2022.

Acclaimed British singer-songwriter Findlay Brown’s year career began with his 2007 single “Come Home’ from debut album ‘Separated By The Sea’ rooting him firmly in the nation’s consciousness, it’s chart placing landing him an appearance on the legendary Top of the Pops. Reviewing his debut, The Guardian referred to ‘Separated By The Sea’ as ‘..brilliantly melancholic, the most unlikely classic of the year’.
Brown’s sophomore release was the Bernard Butler (Suede, Duffy) produced album ”Love Will Find You’ for the iconic Verve Records, leading to a U.S. tour and and a performance of his single ‘How Long’, with orchestra, on The Late Show with David Letterman.
Since moving to Copenhagen in 2013 Brown has released the 2015 collection ‘Slow Light’, and on May 18th releases ‘Not Everything Beautiful Is Good’. The disparate sounds of folk troubadours Nick Drake and Jackson C. Frank, heavyweight songwriters Harry Nilsson and Paul Simon, and avant-garde trailblazers Terry Riley and Arthur Russell float in and out of the new album’s musical landscape like ghosts.
A superb songwriter of depth and complexity, with a unique ability to combine the classic and the esoteric, Findlay Brown has a pioneering musical spirit, his career to this point taking him from his home town of York to London, on to Brooklyn in New York, and now settled in Denmark.
To date he has toured and collaborated with, amongst many others, Bert Jansch, Fionn Regan, John Renbourn, Paul Weller, Brendan Benson, Bat For Lashes and Johnny Flynn.
