The new single by Perfect Plush – Come by the Hills is out now in all digital stores.
The Danish duo Perfect Plush, consisting of Felix Kingo and Tendo Herbst, is back at it again with their new single ‘Come By the Hills’. A single of which blends the sound of indie-rock, soul, and gospel, and emphasizes a new pop sound for the duo. “The song is about being locked away in a mental hospital, hoping that otherworldly creatures would help one to flee into space,” says Perfect Plush. The track features Danish gospel singer Marie Carmen Koppel, whose choir contributes an uplifting vocal energy in a track consisting of tight drums and bassline, dreamy synths and a jazzy trumpet played by Claus Højensgaard (Hess Is More).
The almost theatrical sound and lyrical universe let the listener escape from the everyday banalities to an unknown place. A magical universe where the sun is green and one’s shade is in danger of getting eaten by the local kitchen rats. ‘Come By the Hills’ is the first single from the duo’s forthcoming debut album, set to be released in May 2022.
The track is produced by Perfect Plush in collaboration with the danish hit producer Frederik Nordsø (Drew Sycamore, Christopher & Choir Of Young Believers) and Music For Dreams honcho Kenneth Bager.
