The new Danish duo Subnesia, comprised of Anders Ponsaing and Michael Rune, are back with another breezy piece of downtempo romance. ‘Malena’ features vocalist Charlotte Caluwaerts, setting her tale adrift on the evening air in beautiful Spanish.
With Subnesia, Ponsaing and Rune seek out a direct and melodic sound combining solid electronic beats with acoustic, organic layers. Pop elements mix with a wide array of influences from hip-hop to jazz, the music taking shape from free-floating singular ideas rather than a central prescript.
The release comes in a run of singles leading up the Subnesia’s debut album, to be released on Music For Dreams in October.
